Registration for the Spring 2025 Recreation Program will be open online from October 20, 2024 to November 22, 2024.

Players who register during open enrollment are guaranteed participation in the Spring 2025 program.

Spring 2025 Recreation Registration

Interest in the Clifton Stallions Recreation Program is increasing.

Register during open enrollment 10/20/24 - 11/22/24 to guarantee your player has a spot on a team.

Spring Recreation starts in April 2025 for 8 weeks except for Memorial Day Weekend.

Spring recreation will take place on:

There will be games the weekend of Easter. There will be games during school holiday recess.

SPRING 2025 Recreation Soccer Program

Please carefully read the below information before registering for the Clifton Stallions Recreation Program. You will need to accept a waiver that you have read the below:

Soccer is a TEAM sport. For Grades 2-8, if you are aware ahead of time that the player will not be able to participate in the games each week, please reconsider registering. (We understand illness). When the players registers but does not show to the games each week, the player is leaving the team with less players . If a few players do not show to the games, this is not fair to the players who do show up for the competition game. While Clifton Stallions wants every one to participate and be placed on a team, the club does not want a team to be playing down without enough players each week.

Clifton Stallions recreation soccer program registration is for SPRING 2025 RECREATION SOCCER. This is a new season for the program. Every player must register again if he/she wants to participate.

*** IMPORTANT - WHEN YOU ARE REGISTERING THE PLAYER - YOU ARE REGISTERING FOR THE GRADE HE/SHE IS IN AT THE MOMENT ***

Required documents will need to be uploaded each season as we do not keep them on file. Do not start the registration if you do not have the REQUIRED documents.

Uploaded school documents must include ALL OF THE FOLLOWING: Name of player, Name of school, Date of document (2024-2025 year) and School Grade (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Grade etc).

All registrations without complete documentation upload or incorrect grade information will be voided and not placed on a team.

Clifton Stallions Recreation Soccer Program is for Boys and Girls attending Clifton School System or reside in Clifton.

The recreation program is for children in Kindergarten through and including 8th Grade.

Offered in the program is a 4 year old Soccer Program for beginners - 4 Year Old KICKERS program (Player must be 4 years old by 9/01/2024).

REGISTRATION:

Online Registration for SPRING 2025 Recreation Soccer is open from 10/20/2024 - 11/22/2024.

If you register during open enrollment, your child is guaranteed to participate in the Spring 2025 program.

Once the registration is closed, planning for the season begins.

There will not be a guarantee of openings in each division once the registration is closed on 11/22/2024 at midnight. Clifton Stallions does post if there are any available openings in a division but this is not guaranteed in each division.

Clifton Stallions cannot add on new teams for additional players after the program is closed as arrangements prior to the season start as soon as registration is closed.

PROGRAM FEE FOR ALL DIVISIONS:

The fee for the program is $95.00 and must be completed during registration by credit card.

The credit card processing fee is the responsibility of the party registering.

Paying via credit card is the only way to register for the program.

REFUND POLICY:

Prior to registering, please check your April - June calendars if you can participate with the program. Refunds are not issued.

If a player registers for the Spring 2025 program but decides they cannot participate due to other sports, conflict of practice day, conflict of games, or other personal reasons, there will not be a refund, no exceptions.

PROGRAM DATES:

The Spring season will begin on Saturday April 5, 2025 and run for 8 weeks. (04/05/2025, 04/12/2025, 04/19/2025, 04/26/2025, 05/03/2025, 05/10/2025, 05/17/2025 and 05/31/2025 (not 05/24/2025).

The Recreation Soccer season length is 8 weeks. No games on Memorial Day Holiday Weekend.

The start date of 04/05/25 is subject to change depending on permits and field availability.

PROGRAM LOCATION:

Practice sessions and the Saturday program games/sessions are held at Anzaldi Park - 718 Clifton Avenue, Clifton (Times of practices to be determined in March 2025)

4 Year Old KICKER PROGRAM ~

4 YO Kicker Program Review:

4 Year Old Kickers Program is a SATURDAY ONLY PROGRAM and will consist of soccer drills and fun scrimmages designed for the age group.

The registered player is required to have turned 4 years old prior to the start date of the program.

4 Year Old Kicker Program UPLOADING DOCUMENTS:

4 year old players will not have a school document to upload. During registration, in place of a school progress/report card, upload of proof of Clifton residency, such as a phone bill or utility invoice showing the Clifton address.

Clifton residency exception upload is only allowed for the 4 year old program.

Proof of birth policy will need to be followed for verification to participate in the 4 year old program.

All uploads will need to be approved and verified by the Clifton Stallions Board of Trustees.

Kickers Program - GAME SCHEDULE:

The Kickers program is ONLY A SATURDAY PROGRAM. Time slot choice is 9:00am or 10:00am and to be chosen during registration.

Parents will not be participating on the turf during the session. Players will need to participate with the other players and trainers.

KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM ~

Kindergarten Program Review:

Kindergarten program consists of a one hour technical session during the week and a one hour scrimmage on Saturdays.

Kindergarten teams are not formed in advance. Weekly teams are decided at the start of the Saturday program each week.

Kindergarten registrations will have the option of Mondays at 5:30pm session or Fridays at 6:30pm session.

Due to trainer/participant ratio, once a time slot is filled, no more registrations can be accepted into that time slot.

Kindergarten UPLOADING DOCUMENTS:

Kindergarten registration will need to upload documentation of Kindergarten progress/report card or welcome letter from Clifton Board of Education from the parent portal or a copy of email stating the student will be participating in a Clifton School for the CURRENT YEAR 2024-2025.

Clifton Stallions has been informed by the board of education that if a student is new to Clifton School System, you will receive an email with an interview date for Kindergarten.

The player's birth certificate will be required for upload.

All uploads will need to be approved and verified by the Clifton Stallions Board of Trustees.

Kindergarten - SESSIONS & SCRIMMAGES:

The Kindergarten program is a one skills session during the week and Saturday Scrimmages.

There are 2 time slots offered during registration. The session participants that have skills sessions together during the week, will have scrimmage sessions together.

We cannot switch out days and times due to the trainer - player ratio. Please pick the session that will best fit your schedule.

Players can only register for one slot.

Parents will not be participating on the turf during the session.

1st GRADE PROGRAM ~

1st Grade Program Review:

The 1st grade program consists of a one hour technical session during the week and a one hour scrimmage on Saturdays.

The 1st grade teams are not formed in advance. Weekly teams are decided at the start of the Saturday program.

The 1st grade registrations will have the option of a Mondays 6:30pm session or a Fridays 5:30pm session.

Due to trainer/participant ratio, once a time slot is filled, no more registrations can be accepted into that time slot.

1st Grade UPLOADING DOCUMENTS:

You will need the documents to complete the registration process. Please have the below available for upload. NJYS is a secure site for uploads of personal information.

During the registration process you will need to upload your child's birth certificate or passport AND a 2024-2025 progress/report card or screen shot from the parent portal.

Uploaded documents must include ALL OF THE FOLLOWING: name of player, name of school, date of document and school grade.

2nd - 8th Grade ~

2nd - 8th Grade Program:

The Recreation Program consists of a one hour practice session during the week by a volunteer coach and a one hour scheduled game on Saturdays.

The program is split into a boys program and a girls program for Grades 2-8.

The program divisions for 2nd - 8th grade are split into: 2/3rd grade division , 4/5th grade division and 6/7/8th grade division.

Clifton Stallions has a policy about not allowing a player to play up a year or down a year.

If you believe you have a specific circumstance, it can be reviewed by the Clifton Stallions board. Carpooling, siblings or friends that you want on the same team are not specific circumstances to change division policy.

2nd - 8th Grade UPLOADING DOCUMENTS:

You will need the documents to complete the registration process. Please have the below available for upload. NJYS is a secure site for uploads of personal information.

2nd - 8th Grade - TEAM NOTIFICATION:

The Clifton Stallions Club will have a meeting with the Head Coaches of the Recreation Teams in late March 2025 for team rosters to be completed.

Once the meeting is concluded, parents will receive an email, call or text about the team placement of the registered player.

There is NO GUARANTEE a player will be placed on the same team as in previous seasons.

2nd Grade - 8th Grade - PRACTICE DAY/TIME SCHEDULE:

The Clifton Stallion Club and coaches will communicate prior to the season with the day/time of practice slot given to each team.

Team practices are one time a week for one hour. Typically the time of recreation practice is either 5:30pm, 6:30pm or 7:30pm at ASP Field, Monday - Friday depending on the coach's availability.

Schedules for the practices are not finalized until SPRING 2025. Please do not inquire about the exact time of a practice day/time as we will not have a definitive answer.

The schedule depends on the number of participant registrations.

There are NO guarantees on timing or days of practices.

(Younger players are the earlier provided the earlier slots)

2nd Grade - 8th Grade - GAME SCHEDULE:

The Clifton Stallion Club and coaches will communicate in MARCH 2025 with the game schedule.

Schedules for the games are not finalized until late MARCH 2025.

The schedules depend on the number of participant registrations.

We try to follow previous season schedules as much as possible.

6/7/8th Grade Players: Can be anytime from 8am - 5pm. Each week the time of the game will change.

4/5th Grade Players: Can be anytime from 8am - 5pm. Each week the time of the game will change.

2/3rd Grade Players: Can be anytime from 8am - 5pm. Each week the time of the game will change.

Clifton Stallions cannot guarantee that a division will play in the morning or the afternoon.

Guarantee of times cannot be given ahead of registration as it depends on the amount of registrations and field availability.

Game times will be different each week. Do not register if you are only available to play in the morning or afternoon.

ALL PARTICIPANTS - ATTENDING A PRIVATE SCHOOL BUT CLIFTON RESIDENT:

Clifton Stallions recreation program is for players who reside in Clifton or attend a Clifton school. If the player resides in Clifton but attends a school out of Clifton, please upload their current report card from the non-Clifton school, a utility bill for Clifton residency and proof of birth.

ALL PARTICIPANTS - ATTENDING A SCHOOL IN CLIFTON BUT NOT A CLIFTON RESIDENT:

Clifton Stallions recreation program is for players who reside in Clifton or attend a Clifton school. If the player attends a school in Clifton but resides out of town, please upload their current progress/report card (from the school in Clifton) and proof of birth.

REFUND POLICY:

Prior to registering, please check your April - June calendars if you can participate with the program. Refunds are not issued.

If a player registers for the September 2025 but decides they cannot participate due to other sports, conflict of practice day, conflict of games, or other personal reasons, there will not be a refund.

* IF YOU REGISTER AND PAY FOR THIS PROGRAM BUT DO NOT MEET THE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS OF CITY RESIDENCY OR GRADE, THERE IS NO REFUND.

IF THE CORRECT DOCUMENTS ARE NOT UPLOADED, THERE IS NO REFUND.

* School documents that are up-loaded must include:

The Full Name of the Player
Date of document (2024-2025)
The NAME of the SCHOOL
The GRADE the player is in (1st, 2nd, 3rd Grade - NOT A's or B's for Grade)

Each upload is verified and if you do not upload the correct documents, the players application will NOT be added to a team.

DO NOT email in the document stating that you do not have it at this time. Uploads need to be done during registration.

Over 1000 registrations are done during one season. Clifton Stallions cannot attach documents to each registration.

Once a player registers, the player has been insured by NJ Youth Soccer, a uniform shirt has been allotted for and a position on a roster has been guaranteed (pending correct upload of documents).

Documents need to be uploaded and verified due to past incidents of false information provided to the club.

THE REQUIREMENTS OF CLIFTON RESIDENT OR CLIFTON SCHOOL STUDENT MUST BE FOLLOWED per the Clifton Recreation Department.

EVERY PLAYER WILL NEED DURING THE SEASON:

Cleats - soccer cleats with rounded studs - No football cleats
Soccer shin guards
Saturday program - The Clifton Stallions Jersey provided
Something to drink, preferably water
If a player wears glasses, we suggest they use sports-safe goggles
If a player wears a sweatshirt, the hood must be tucked into the soccer jersey
NO jewelry at all - watches and especially earrings.

SATURDAY PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS:

The Clifton Stallions recreation program continues when the weather is cold, warm, raining and windy.

The Saturday portion of the program can only be cancelled after a Clifton Stallion board decision is made due to extreme weather conditions.

If there is a possibility of cancelling the Saturday portion of the program, a decision will be emailed to registered participants by 8am the morning in question.

Notifications will also be posted on the Facebook and Instagram page.

Do not assume games are cancelled. We do not want a team to forfeit because they did not have enough participants.

WAIVER ABOUT FALSE INFORMATION:

During the registration, you will need to sign a waiver that the information entered during registration is true and accurate.

Any registration which contains false information and/or false documents uploaded will be removed from the Clifton Stallions Recreation Program immediately without refund.

Please understand, Clifton Stallions board members do not like to be required to view over 1000 registrations but to keep each player in the correct division, we need to have documents uploaded. We do not want a Clifton resident/student not to be able to participate because an out of town player took their spot. This is why we need documents uploaded with the name of the school and player name. Clifton Stallions is responsible for keeping the program to the players/students of Clifton without players from other towns. We understand that parents do not want to find the documents and upload them each season but this is a requirement to make sure a 2nd grader is not being placed on a 8th grade team.
