Some 25 years ago, an organization was formed in Clifton, NJ with the expressed objective of providing all children in the Clifton community the opportunity to play soccer and develop their soccer skills in a positive, healthy environment. We know that organization today as the Clifton Stallions Soccer Club.
All those who are involved with The Stallions in any capacity—parent, referee, coach or administrator—must keep in the forefront of their minds the fact that we deal with young people from the ages of 5 years old and up. What we must stress in our activities and dealings with our players is their fun and enjoyment of the sport of soccer. Without this dimension, there is no longer any reason for them to participate in elective activities such as youth sports.
We are going to try to get the Recreation season in during these trying times. Here are some procedures we need to follow.
Masks must be worn going to and from the fields, so players and parents must put on masks as soon you exit your vehicle. We will have a table set up to take temperatures and ask Covid questions. All players must check in before stepping onto the fields. Please make sure you wait around until your child enters the field. The city is still limiting gathering on site, so parents will not be allowed to watch the practice. You will be able to walk around the park. Please remember to make sure your child has water as the concession stand will not be open. Please exit the park as soon as practice is over.
There will be a table set up to take temperatures and ask Covid questions. Please make sure you wear your masks as you enter and exit the park. No player should step onto the field without getting their temperature checked. Only 2 parents will be allowed to stay and watch the game. Please wear your masks and continue social distancing while at the field. Please exit the field as soon as game is completed. Make sure your child has water as the concession stand will be closed during games also.
There will no handshakes after the games and we are encouraging no snacks this season.
